Chat (also spelled Chaat) is one of the most unique and interesting spices you will probably try. Now, don’t let its smell of rotten eggs turn you away because this spice is filled with amazing flavour that can be used in many different ways.
It’s mysterious yet universal taste comes to form a mix of spices including black salt, dried mango, cumin, pomegranate, mint and many more! Many use it as a last-minute add to their favourite dishes rather than actually cooking with it like other masalas. For example, you can add it to your eggs, favourite fruits like watermelon, drinks, meat and veggie dishes. Some even sprinkle it on their popcorn or nuts to add extra spice and create new taste!
One refreshing way to use chat masala is by adding to your lassi drink. Lassi is a popular traditional yogurt based drink that comes from India and is loved by many in South Asian cultures. Here is a quick savory lassi chat drink you can make at home in 5 minutes with just a handful of ingredients!
