It seems like air fryers have taken over 2020 and the craze doesn’t seem to be disappearing any time soon!
The main selling of an air fryer is basically, use little to no oil while cooking and you no longer have to get attacked by oil popping bubbles! You can essentially cut back on fat, save time, and cook all your dishes at once. Some models even have added features like a toaster oven and rotisserie so you can make your favourite dishes in so many ways while saving countertop space. It’s also not limited to just cooking, you can also bake your favourite sweet treats like muffins and cake pops!
We’ve put together 3 easy and tasty recipes you can make at home in minutes with an air fryer! These recipes all use a basic air fryer and with little oil or ghee. Let us know what’s your favourite!
1. Tempura Avocados
Tempura avocados or fired avocados are an appitizer classic. They are simple to create and perfect for your vegetarian and vegan friends!
This recipe is perfect for adding an extra crunch that you can’t get when you opt for the baking option. With the air fryer method, you don’t need to skimp on flavour, crunch and texture to get a healthier option in a pinch.
All you need are some ripe avocados, flour, oil (or Kissan Ghee), chilli powder, garlic powder, salt & pepper, and one egg. Also, you can use Kissan Fried Onions as a part of your coating mixture is a great way to add extra flavour and crunch to your avocados.
Let your air fryer to the rest in just 8 minutes!

- 3 tbsp Kissan Tandoori Masala or Kisna Tandoori Masala
- 3-4 lbs Trimmed Brisket
- 1 1/2 cups Beef Stock
- 2 tbsp Salt
- 1 tbsp Garlic Powder
- 1 tbsp Onion Powder
- 1 tbsp Black Pepper
- 1 tbsp Chilli powder (can substitue chilli flakes for more spice)
- 1 Bay Leaf (crushed)
- 2 tbsp Honey Mustard
-
Combine all your dry ingredients to create your brisket rub for marination. Add your Tandoori Masala, salt, pepper, garlic and onion powder, bay leaf and chilli powder/flakes. Rub both sides of your brisket completely with your dry rub and place in your baking tray to sit for at least 1 hour. For better taste let this sit uncovered for at least 24 hours.
-
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F and grab your marinated brisket. Fill your baking pan with about 1/2 inch of beef stock. The bottom layer of your brisket should be submerged in stock.
-
Lower your oven to 300 degrees F and cover your pan tightly with aluminum foil and bake for 3 hours. Be sure to keep an eye on your brisket as it cooks, because it can easily be forgotten and become overcooked.
-
As you near the end (about 1 1/2 hours to completion) you can drizzle or spread some of the honey mustard sauce. This will help cut some of the spicy heat in your brisket and add a unique taste.
2. Curry Poutine
Ok,this by far is the easiest and a definite crowd favourite and you don’t need that much time! Poutine is such a Canadian staple dish and you can make so many different varieties like our Butter Chicken Poutine, that the possibilities are endless!
To make your life easier you can use frozen fries, instead of making homemade ones, but honestly with an air fryer making homemade fried is not that hard or time-consuming. All you need are some Yukon potatoes, Kissan Curry Sauce, cheese curds, chilli pepper, salt & pepper, and some oil and your favourite toppings like diced chicken. You can also make it vegan friendly by swapping the cheese curds for vegan cheese and top it off with cauliflower bites instead of chicken.

- 1 bottle Kissan Tikka Masala Cooking Sauce
- 2 tbsp Kissan Desi Ghee
- 1 cup Macaroni Noodles
- 2 cups Water
- 1 half block Paneer Cheese (cubed)
- 1 whole Red Onions (diced)
- 1 tbsp Green Onions (diced)
- 2 tsp Cumin Seeds
-
In a medium pot bring 2 cups of water to a boil and add macaroni noodles. Cook for about 10 mins. until noodles are soft and ready. Strain and set aside.
-
In a pan heat up your ghee under medium heat and add red onions, cumin seeds and paneer cubes. Fry until both sides of paneer cubes are grilled up. Be careful to not overcook or burn the cheese or onions. This will impact the taste and not mix well.
-
Now add in your cooked macaroni noodles and 1 bottle of Kissan Tikka Masala Cooking Sauce. Mix everything together well until sauce begins to bubble.
-
Take off heat and garnish with your diced green onions!
3. Garam Churros
Now lets end on a sweet note with these tasty churros that are just to die for! Churros are actually not as hard to make as people assume, espically with an air fryer.
For this recipe, we are tweaking it a bit by using Garam Masala to create a warmer coating and taste. A perfect anthem treats and goes perfect with a chai latte or even a Lassi Drink.
